Es una planta perenne circunscrita al Mediterráneo. Especie bulbosa de hasta 60 cm. Las hojas son erguidas y presentes durante la floración. Tallo de color verdoso, plano en sección y sostiene entre 3 y 11 flores, blancas y aromáticas. El fruto es una cápsula de 3 válvulas.
